SHIPWIDE ALERT SIGNALS

CONDITION GREEN: nominal proceedings. No hands aboard should diverge from their previously assigned duties.

BLUE ALERT: docking manoeuvres. Real-time high-fidelity communication is to be established between the vessel and the dock master. In case of planetary landing, heightened preparedness from the engineering crew is required.

GREY ALERT: ship-wide technological malfunction. All non-essential decks are to be evacuated. Engineering personnel are to begin investigations. HAZMAT suit optional, depending on situation.

YELLOW ALERT: possible crisis situation. Heightened preparedness required from all senior officers and all hands of the tactical division.

ORANGE ALERT: imminent crisis situation. All defensive systems are to be initiated. Arming of offensive systems optional, depending on situation.

RED ALERT: ongoing crisis situation. All defensive and offensive systems are to be activated and fully charged. All members of the senior crew are to head for the bridge or any functional command section. All medical facilities are to be opened and prepared for major injuries.

DOUBLE RED ALERT: ongoing fleet crisis situation. All ships in the vicinity are to group to answer the crisis. The tactically superior vessel is to take the lead, except if commanded by an officer under the rank of Captain.

WHITE ALERT: on-board crisis situation, notably hostile boarding forces or biological attack. All non-essential decks are to be evacuated. HAZMAT or EVA suits and weapons are to be given to all security personnel. Air filtration systems are to be fully powered except in lockdown mode.

BLACK ALERT, LEVEL 1: invasion of a Federation member planet. All ships in the vicinity are to head for the endangered planet. Fleet-wide manoeuvres are not to be organized by anyone under the rank of Senor Captain.

BLACK ALERT, LEVEL 2: invasion of the planet Earth. All ships in non-critical zones are to head toward Earth at Maximum Warp. Co-ordination with other branches of Federation military is required. All non-capital ships can be sacrificed if needed.

BLACK ALERT, LEVEL 3: invasion of the Federation. All ships are to head toward pre-defined rallying points in the vicinity of security breaches. Radio silence is to be maintained with any planet under attack or facing imminent attack unless necessary. Continuity-of-Staff and Continuity-of-Government plans are to be initiated if needed. All ships and crews can be sacrificed if needed.

Captain (first command): White alert, were being invaded by Tribbles!
The computer says Hazmat or Eva suits for security.
Security Officer: Sir, I dont see why suits are needed.
Captain: Its an order, lieutenant. I dont want you to fire unless the tribbles are armed. Ok!
First Officer: Sir, do you actually know what a tribble is?
