We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. I dont like the darkness, but the Darkness likes me!
The weapons in B5 seem so incredibly destructive because the ships have no shields. The Minbari are protected from human weapons because of some form of "active stealth" that prevents lock-ons.
The Minbari do have more powerful weapons and tougher ships but would still have been crippled into giving up their genocidal rampage if the Human ships could make more consistent direct hits.
The Federation have tougher ships than the humans in B5 and shields and systems that would get past the "Active Stealth" very easily. Add sub to trans nuclear torpedoes, beam weapons that literally vaporize matter, ships that are as fast as fighters and if called for can explode with a force that would annihilate a small moon (Warp Core), and you have a situation where being big, fish-like, and aggressive is no help at all.
*I'm referencing the Original TV programs not the RPGs and other material that have come about since for both B5 and Star Trek TOS.
