Since Jon-Bluestone blocks people he disagrees with, I have to answer here.

Some TIEs carry shields, and phasers aren't strong enough to damage the TIEs' titanium-steel alloy armor. SW guns have to be set up to 64000 GW of power just to destroy a TIE, phasers are limited to 3.6 GW. For more comparisons, check this well-sourced essay that uses tech manuals that were approved by BOTH Lucasfilm AND Paramount.

Given the official calcs from Lucasfilm themselves put turbolasers at 200 gigatons when fired at max power, far more powerful than the 64 megatons of the Trek photon torpedoes, (again, a figure pulled from Star Trek's own tech manuals) a single ISD would wipe out the entire Starfleet Federation armada before it even starts taking damage. That, and there are numerous instances in both novel format and video where we see turbolasers hitting targets from afar. Trek photon torpedoes wouldn't do anything against the Death Star except scratch the paint, whereas the DS turbolasers would be more than enough to destroy the Trek warships while the superlaser points at something far more important, like a planet.

Trek fanboys like Jon-Bluestone have to rely on denying facts posted by Lucasfilm's own tech manuals to try and prove their point. Aside from being LOL-worthy, that's absolutely sad; it's like what if GRRM has to tell Tolkien that he's wrong about the Uruk-Hai just to give the disorganized Westerosi armies a chance against the highly-disciplined and well-armed Uruks.
